Assistant Director of Nursing

Akeso Healthsearch is a leading nursing and healthcare recruitment agency. We work in partnership with both public and private hospitals, as well as in semi-acute facilities, paediatric homecare, residential services, and practice nursing.

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to join a Transitional Care Unit in Dublin. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure high standards of nursing care, coordinating with Resident Medical Officers, conducting ward rounds, and overseeing admissions and discharges.
• Supervise and mentor CNMs, nurses, and care assistants, providing ongoing education and professional development.
• Conduct and monitor clinical, environmental, and medication audits, ensuring action plans are implemented.
• Manage patient-centered interactions, resolving complaints and liaising with families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Support day-to-day hospital operations in collaboration with the DON, ensuring high-quality clinical practices.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse with active registration on the NMBI.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role.
• Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong decision-making ability and motivation to foster a team environment.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
